Opening the Camera
Tap the camera icon in the bottom tab bar to open the camera. Recap supports both landscape and portrait recording.
Orientation Detection
When you first tap the record button, Recap detects your device orientation and asks you to confirm. This locks the orientation for the entire recording session, ensuring a consistent video.
Recording
Once orientation is confirmed, hit the red record button to start filming. During recording you'll see:
- A timer showing elapsed time
- The number of clips recorded
- A "RECORDING" indicator
Pausing and Resuming
You can pause recording at any time and resume later. Each pause creates a new clip segment, which Recap seamlessly joins together during processing.
Finishing Up
When you're done recording, tap End Session. This takes you to the Event Completion flow where you'll name your event, set scores (for sports), and choose which outputs to generate.
Save for Later
If you're not ready to process your event immediately, you can Save Event & Publish Later. The event will be stored in My Events under your profile, ready to submit whenever you like.
