Accessing Camera Config
Camera configuration is available from the recording screen. When paused or before recording starts, tap the status badge to open the configuration sheet.
Resolution
Choose from the available resolutions supported by your device. Higher resolutions produce better quality video but use more storage.
Frame Rate (FPS)
Select your preferred frame rate. Higher frame rates produce smoother video, which is especially useful for fast-moving sports:
- 30 FPS — standard, good balance of quality and file size
- 60 FPS — smoother motion, recommended for sports
Bitrate
Adjust the recording bitrate to control video quality and file size. Higher bitrates produce larger files but better image quality.
Stabilisation
Recap supports device-level stabilisation modes to reduce camera shake during handheld recording. The available modes depend on your device model and the selected resolution/FPS combination.
Storage Considerations
Higher resolution, frame rate, and bitrate settings all increase file size. A typical 60-minute match at 1080p/30fps uses approximately 4-6 GB of storage. Monitor your device's available storage before long recordings.
